Standard Newspaper: Siaya County makes strides in provision of medical oxygen to patients

Posted by on Nov 10, 2014 in Events, Partners, Recent News | 0 comments

Siaya County Referral Hospital is the first county hospital in the country to be outfitted with its own oxygen manufacturing machine, as highlighted in an article that appeared in the Standard Newspaper on Wednesday, November 5th, 2014 (“New Plant Gets Oxygen Flowing into Sick Residents’ Lungs”). This milestone is important due to the reduced cost of providing oxygen to patients and also will be accessible to other county hospitals in Kisumu, Kisii and Kakamega. As a health institution working within Siaya County and a strategic health partner with Siaya County (click here to read more about the Memorandum of Understanding between SCH and Siaya County), SCH applauds this development as an important step towards providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare in the region. In addition, and as noted in the article, SCH’s upcoming Accident and Emergency wing’s infrastructure is outfitted in readiness for the provision of medical oxygen.
