SCH Conducts Outreach in Sagam Village as SCH FC beats Mount Kenya University.

Posted by on Nov 6, 2018 in Events, Partners, Recent News | 0 comments

On Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, our Sagam Community Hospital (SCH) Football Club (FC) teamed up with SCH’s outreach team for a joint football match and medical services camp. SCH FC was scheduled to play Mount Kenya University (Thika Campus) staff football team for a second time. While the event was free, the requirement for entry was to submit oneself for a blood pressure check.       And what an exciting day it was! SCH outreach team took to Sagam Primary School at 10 am to help set up the medical stations and the sound system, which would blare out music and promotion of the free services to be provided that day. Despite the rains during the day, our great support in Sagam Village came out in large numbers to support our team.     Boasting a robust defense, steady midfield and brave striking force, SCH FC triumphed to a 3-1 win. Meanwhile, SCH’s outreach team conducted free blood pressure checks, cervical cancer screening and HIV testing and counseling.       Many thanks to SCH staff, SCH community health works and the members of our fantastic football team for a great performance, coordination, planning and support on Saturday. And additional appreciation to Mount Kenya University for making the long journey to Siaya County and we hope to visit them for an away game and show we are as strong away from ‘Sagam FC Stadium’. Lastly, many thanks to Sagam village community, that came out in strong numbers to cheer for their...
