Mr. Javan Imbamba and Ms. Stella Odenyo, two clinical officers at Sagam Community Hospital, were accepted for publication into the International Journal of Emergency Medicine this week. They worked in collaboration with Dr. Karla Fredricks and others from Massachusetts General Hospital. This is a tremendous accomplishment in medicine, as it is a highly competitive journal with academic centers from all around the world publishing here.
Their research focused around a ketamine-based sedation and anesthesia package for non-anesthetists. Studies such as this will allow anesthesia to be available in situations that would otherwise result in significant delays to procedures or proceeding with painful procedures with inadequate analgesia. Our most sincere congratulations to everyone involved! Thank you to Mr. Imbamba and Ms. Odenyo for leading Sagam as we explore new frontiers in medicine!
