Deryck Onyango Omuodo holds a Masters degree in education and development from the University of London, UK, and a Bachelors degree in education from the University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. He has 39 years of valuable expertise and work experience in the health sector in the areas of health systems and health programs management. Mr. Omuodo has solid capabilities in providing effective technical and training assistance to governments, development agencies and NGOs and taking leadership in program implementation. He has turned around and restored management operations for failing NGOs. He has also developed capacity building strategies and frameworks and successfully managed country and field office set ups and operations in addition to preparing strategic plans for a number of health-based Kenyan NGOs. His work experience and execution of consultancy assignments have been gained through working at senior levels for high profile international and regional organizations and a donor agency. Currently, Mr. Omuodo works as a freelance consultant in various health development programs and also serves in the Boards of Management of several public sector high schools in addition to being chairman of one of these.
