Kenya was represented by His Excellency (HE) Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o (Governor of Kisumu County), First Lady Dorothy Nyong’o (Kisumu County), Mr. George O. Okongo (Kisumu County), Dr. Andrew Toro (Thika County), Mr. Arif Neky (UNFPA), Mr. Isaiah Okoth (PharmAccess), Dr. Bahaa Eddine Sarroukh (UNFPA) and Prof. Khama Rogo.
Multiple high-level delegations participated in WoHC’s 3-day Health~Holland Visitors Programme 2018 to be inspired and connect.
Prof. Rogo gave two presentations. The first was on the approach of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Africa and the progress do far. He stressed the importance of innovation if Africa is to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
His second presentation was a plenary on on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and opportunities for private sector investment in Africa. He provided examples of challenges and opportunities brought by new willingness of governments to engage in dialogue, reform policy and regulatory constrains and invest with private entities.
