On January 21, Sagam Community Hospital hosted another Monthly Research Meeting where all those involved with research at MGH and Sagam gathered to learn more about the various projects taking place in Siaya County. Research topics that were discussed included the Ketamine study, HARK, UBT, the ED Registry, and Non-Communicable Disease and Palliative Care.

By meeting once a month to share information about their various research projects, MGH Fellows, KMET partners and other research contributors help each other to understand what research has already been done, what still needs to be done, and the challenges being faced in terms of data collection and data analysis. Numerous papers are being written based on the data collected and will be submitted to well known health and medical journals in Africa and the US.

It is the hope of MGH and Sagam to always strive towards the betterment of peoples health in Kenya. By listening closely to local input and with the help of local governments, we aim to provide help in areas that need it most, whether it is through providing medical training or increasing access to supplies and health services.
