This week, the SCH team visited Sidindi Primary School as part of its community outreach initiative. The SCH team was accompanied by the M-TIBA team that is currently at the hospital assisting with the launch of the platform, training of staff and sensitization of the public. Together with the SCH outreach team, they provided information on M-TIBA and how to complete registration for the service. This is a great initiative, since it is making healthcare more accessible for people who normally can’t afford good healthcare.
Another new addition to our outreach services was the MobileODT device as part of our cervical cancer screening efforts. The MobileODT device assists in the study and diagnosis of the cervix and allows for real-time consultation to occur with our ob/gyn consultant.
All of these activities were done in addition to our usual initiatives including family planning, child health and immunization, measuring blood pressures and HIV testing. Altogether, this week was again a great success and we would like to thank the Sidindi Primary School and the SCH team for the wonderful collaboration.
We cannot wait for next week!
