On 10th June 2014, Sagam Community Hospital (SCH) took the next major step in its partnership with Maseno University’s School of Medicine (MUSOM). According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions signed in early 2014 (click here and here for the stories on the partnership), SCH will serve as a teaching hospital for the University’s Family and Emergency Medicine post-graduate program. The program is set to launch in September 2014.

The meeting was attended by SCH’s founder, Dr. Khama Rogo; SCH’s General Manager, Dr. Walter Obita, Dr. Thomas Burke (Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)), Dr. Ahn Roy (MGH), Prof. Dominic Makawiti (Vice-chancellor Maseno University), Prof. Wilson Odero (Dean, MUSOM) and Dr. John Kaguthi (Head of Department, Family and Emergency Medicine, MUSOM).
