Sagam Hospital welcomed Siaya County MP, Hon. Dr. Christine Oduor Ombaka, who paid a courtesy visit to check on the progress of the hospital since her last visit and also to officially welcome the students to Siaya county. She was accompanied by a renowned lawyer, Ms. Pamela Odima, who is also a human rights and gender violence advocate and a trainer. Pamela has great interest in the setting up of the Gender Violence and Recovery Centre at the facility which we are trying to be an independent department in the hospital.  During her visit she was received by Prof. Khama Rogo, SCH Founder, Prof. Thomas Burke, Chief of the Division of Global Health at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Walter Obita, General Manager of Sagam Community Hospital, Debora Rogo and Benson Sewe, the SCH Executive Officer.  She was very happy with the progress which has been made and encouraged the students and pledged her support for the hospital.
