This week Sagam Community Hospital (SCH) traveled to Sidindi in Siaya County for another successful community outreach. This was the second time SCH conducted an outreach in Sindindi, located approximately 1 hour from SCH. SCH also partnered with Center for Health Solutions (CHS) from Siaya County Referral Hospital. CHS conducted a live performance at the market place to educate the community on the importance of male circumcision.

Ninety- seven people were registered at the outreach, and 93 people had their blood pressure taken with 26 people referred to SCH for further testing. The cervical cancer screening station led by Nurse Varsity and Nurse Juliet screened a total of 23 women. Family Planning services were also offered to 10 community members, and 15 children were administered Vitamin A. Furthermore, 34 people were tested for HIV at our HIV and counseling station.

SCH would like to thank our partners Jhpiego, M-Tiba, KMET, CHAK, and Kentons for making the outreach possible. It is through these partnerships SCH is able to provide comprehensive services to surrounding communities. We would also like to thank CHS for their partnership and their performance at the market place.
