Sagam Community Hospital in conjunction with Christian Health of Kenya (CHAK) through Healthy Heart Africa and Missions for Essential Drugs and Supply (MEDS) on 4 June 2016 conducted a very successful medical outreach at Misori Beach on invitation of Rarieda Professional Forum.
This was during their Rarieda Clean Initiative which involved among other things environmental conservation, boat racing, tug of war amongst other things. During this exercise a total of 266 patients were seen in different categories in an exercise which began at 11 and ended at four. 106 people were screened for hypertension, 30 were screened for cervical cancer 30 were seen for family planning with 14 implants being inserted , 4 IUCD and 2 DMPD, 50 children were immunized while fifty were tested for HIV.
The occasion was graced by among others Otiende Amollo the National Ombudsman Kenya, Commissioner Belinda Ochiel of National Cohesion and Intergration Commission, Mr William Oduol among a host of other political leaders.Members of Siaya Political Forum were also present. The medical outreach was coordinated by Dr Sam Ajanja. Their is need for more of this and the team decided to do more of this at the beaches to reach the unreached.
